Since 2016, Jessica is forming the DUO KARUNA with the aspiring german violinist Johanna Ruppert. Along with several awards and prizes at international chamber music competitions, the two musicians have been able to share unforgettable concert experiences with audiences in Italy, Spain, Norway, Poland, Austria and all over Germany.
Highlights of the last years were concerts at renowned festivals, such as Beethovenfest Bonn, Festival Internacional de Musica de Camara Montaleon (Spain), Gezeitenkonzerte Ostfriesland, Bergedorfer Musiktage, Festival Musik in den Häusern der Stadt and many others.
Their musical relationship is guided by a deep and intuitive understanding for each other. The name KARUNA (sanskrit for feeling together) reflects on their constant aim towards refined interplay and profound togetherness.
The intriguing combination of the two instruments violin and guitar opens up a whole new world of sounds and keeps surprising the listener with its broad variability and a plethora of colours. Established as well as less-known repertoire can therefore be experienced in a new and exciting way. The duo’s repertoire includes smart arrangements of baroque, folkloristic or impressionistic music as well as contemporary compositions and also features experimental performance formats.
